This year, we have decided to take a leap of faith and try something new at Redeemer. While we have loved hosting a Trunk-or-Treat these past several years, we would like to try something new for 2019. Since Halloween is on a Thursday this year, and Celebrate Recovery meets on Thursday nights, we thought this change will give us an opportunity to try a new type of outreach. We hope everyone still participates and invites friends and neighbors to join us!
Community resources (such as the Library, Celebrate Recovery, and others) will host tables of information.
We are also going to have fun activities for the whole family!
– crafts and games
– bounce house
– trunks of candy to give away
– face-painting
– cake walk and more!
Sign up to help! Sign-ups are in the lobby:
– Lead an activity
– Run the bounce house
– Do face-painting
– Use your vehicle trunk to give out candy!
We also need donations! Put them in the red bin in the lobby.
– Candy
– Goody bags (for kids collecting candy)
– Face-paint
– Baked goods to use in our cakewalk
Help us invite community organizations & resources to attend: If you know of an organization that supports our community and may want to be included, send that information to [email protected]!
Sunday Morning Class for Adults meets at 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. (Sorry, there is no child care at this time.)
Children’s Church for Elementary Students meets during the sermon time of the worship service in room 109. The children join their parents during the first half of the worship service and are dismissed to Children’s Church during the offertory. Children’s Church teachers volunteer on a rotating basis.
Children’s Church for PreK – Kindergarten meets in room 113 at 10:30 a.m. to Noon. The teachers volunteer on a rotating schedule. A snack is provided.
Nursery Care for newborns through 2 years old is provided every Sunday morning from 10:30 a.m. to Noon. Infants to age 1 are cared for in the Nursery (room 115). Toddlers are in room 114.
We also have a “Cry Room” available in back of the sanctuary for parents of newborns that want to enjoy the worship service and tend to the needs of their newborns at the same time.
Please come worship God with us through prayer, music, biblical teaching, and welcoming each other!
What are services like?
Our worship service begins on Sunday at 10:45 a.m. and ends at around noon. The dress is somewhat casual. There is nursery care for newborns through age 2 and age appropriate worship for children ages 3 through the fifth grade. The typical worship service events flow like this:
- Warm welcome and opening song.
- Pastor’s welcome & a few announcements.
- A time to greet those around you.
- A time of praise & worship songs (praise, hymns, gospel, spiritual songs) accompanied by a band and led by a worship team.
- Prayer
- Offertory
- Scripture reading
- Biblical sermon
- Communion (open style) is on the first Sunday of each month.
- Closing song and benediction
Child Care
Nursery/toddler care for infants (2 years and younger) and toddlers (2-4 years) is available from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Sunday mornings.
Elementary school age children begin with their parents in the worship service and are dismissed during the offertory to go to Children’s Church.
A “Cry Room” is also available at the back of the sanctuary for parents with fussy babies.
Special Congregational Meeting for members to vote on hiring pastoral staff for 2020.
Be The Bridge small group study
Sundays at 4:00-5:30 p.m.
The Racial Reconciliation Group no longer is having its ongoing monthly meetings this fall.
Instead, we are doing something new: an 8-week commitment to weekly meetings using Be the Bridge curriculum to guide us as we seek God’s heart for unity in a racially divided society.
The group is full for this fall, but keep an eye in the spring to form another one!
