“Christmas Carols”
We will look at different Christmas carols and hymns that the kids are singing in the Christmas musical or we are singing for Christmas Eve. Each carol will focus on a key word of the season (Hope; Peace etc.)
November 28th “Come Thou Long Expected Jesus” (Hope) Isaiah 11:1-9 – Theme: Advent is a time of hope – we look forward to the future knowing it is secure, even as we wait.
December 5th“Now Behold the Lamb” (Awe) Luke 1:5-20 – Theme: Advent is a time of Awe – we remember to be silent, to pause & reflect at the glory of God.
December 12th “Away in a Manger” (Peace) Luke 2:1-7 – Theme: Advent brings the gift of peace – Jesus will be our prince of peace. [Note – The Kids Musical is this Sunday]
December 19th “Silent Night” (World) Isaiah 9:6-7 Theme: Advent impacts the World – leading to peace, order, and justice across the globe.
December 26th “O Come all Ye Faithful” (Worship) Luke 2:8-20 – Theme: Advent means we worship – we are responding to God’s work that He has done through Christ.
January 2nd “Led to the Father’s House” Luke 2:41-52 – Theme: The boy Jesus in the temple – Jesus leads his parents the Father’s house.
