Our Current Sermon Series
Each year at Redeemer I pick a theme for the year. In 2016 the theme was “It’s not you, it’s me.” My goal was for us all to focus on taking ownership of our own faith. The theme for 2017 might be thought of as a complement to that. While ownership is important, it must not be a self-centered ownership. We will turn the focus to others: Best Supporting Actor/Actress.
What does a life that serves others look like? Can you be the type of Christian who doesn’t always need the spotlight on them but instead shines it on someone else? Or even better yet, can you live a life where God gets the glory for the things in your life? Like the Israelites in the book of Ezra, sometimes our calling is to support those around us rather than be the center of attention. In 2017, many of us will find ourselves in situations where we aren’t the center but we are called to play a key part.
