Temporary closure due to COVID-19

March 24th, 2020

Redeemer Family –

As we continue to monitor the COVID 19 pandemic, I wanted to write you with an update as it pertains to Redeemer Covenant Church. Earlier this month, the church council had met and voted to suspend all in-person gatherings until March 29th. On Thursday night (3/19) the council held a follow-up meeting and approved the suspension of all in-person ministries and gatherings through April 5th. This timeline roughly corresponds with the current ban (at the time I write this) on gatherings of groups of 10 or more decreed by Governor Abbott. Since this is a constantly fluctuating situation, we plan on giving everyone another update by April 5th.

During the meeting with our leaders, I got into the unfortunate habit of using the language like ‘cancelling’ or ‘postponing’ ministries to describe our current situation. One discerning leader pointed at that we are doing neither of those things but are instead seeking alternative ways to do ministry when we cannot meet in person.

With that, I invite you to continue in ministry in the following alternative ministries:

  • Join us on Facebook Live for a message and updates on Sunday mornings (10:45)
  • Join our Zoom prayer call on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m.
  • Contact a Redeemer member or attender on your own just to stay in touch.

If you have not already, I highly recommend each of you subscribe to Redeemer’s e-mail list, as that is the primary way we are getting the word out about these ministries. To do so, simply contact Lori Vriend at [email protected] with your e-mail to be added. For those on Facebook, be sure to follow us there for updates as well.

Finally, we would love to hear how you are doing. Be sure to keep us posted on ways we can support and pray for each of you by e-mailing / texting / calling.

In Christ,
– Pastor Mark
