Behavioral Covenant For Redeemer Evangelical Covenant Church
“I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling
which you have received.
Be completely humble and gentle;
be patient, bearing with one another in love.
Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit
through the bond of peace.”
Ephesians 4:1-3
As members of RECC, we pledge to serve our Lord in faithful discipleship by:
Committing to personal integrity – With Jesus Christ as our model, we will always seek to be patient, loving, kind, and gentle with others and we will always pursue growth in our spiritual lives.
Respecting the call to serve the Lord – We will be prepared and dedicated to do our tasks, practicing good time management, holding each other accountable, offering each other grace, and representing the church body faithfully.
Communicating clearly – We will listen with open minds, ask questions for clarification before making judgments, speak up when we do have a different perspective, and avoid making things personal or taking things personally.
Behaving in accordance with our calling – We will seek to develop trust in each other, maintain confidentiality, flee from gossip, avoid being caught up in power struggles, and disagree without polarizing the congregation.
Serving faithfully when we agree and disagree – We will recognize the validity of multiple ideas, seeking to first do what is best for the entire church over personal preferences. We will remain supportive and faithful to the Council, even when decisions are made that we disagree with.
Never losing sight of hope – We admit we are incapable of doing God’s will without the help of the Holy Spirit. We will cling to the truth of the gospel: that, in all things, Jesus Christ is working for the good of those who love Him.
“There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called
to one hope when you were called;
one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of us all,
who is over all, through all, and in all.”
Ephesians 4:4-6
